Summer Schedule

Our guild does not hold general meetings between May and October, but some of our members still get together. The Fiber Artists Group meets every second Wednesday of the month during Summer at the Northtown Community Center (see address on the left) at 10 AM. These are the upcoming meeting dates:

June, 8th
July, 13th
August, 10th
September, 14th

You don’t have to be a member of the Fiber Artist Group or even a guild member to stop by and visit, just bring a healthy interest in fiber arts and maybe a snack.

Upcoming Program: Study Group and Workshops Show-and-Tell on May 7nd

The last meeting of our season is around the corner! The study groups will show us what they’ve been working on this last year and everybody who has attended workshops in 2015/16 is invited to bring samples and share their experiences.

This is a Potluck Event, everybody gets to bring treats and snacks!

The meeting starts at 10 am, but doors open at 9, so come early and mingle!

There will be a board meeting after the general meeting concludes.

Upcoming Program: Felting with Diane Wilson

Our speaker on March 5th is our very own Diane Wilson. Diane received the ADWSG scholarship to explore felting with armatures. Her program will center around felting and her recent projects.

The meeting will start at 10 AM, but doors open at 9 so come early, help us set up and mingle!

Snacks and refreshments supplied by guild members who aren’t in any study group.

Upcoming Program: Dianne Totten

Our speaking on February 6th is Dianne Totten. The topic will be Commenting on Crimp Cloth. Dianne’s extensive exploration of a variation of handwoven shibori has opened up a whole new weaving world of possibilities. She calls the resulting fabric crimp cloth. Through visual presentation, view the garments that flatter your figure, the shawls that won’t slide off your shoulders, and scarves that can serve a dual purpose.

The meeting will start at 10 AM, but doors open at 9 so come early, help us set up and mingle!

Snacks and refreshments supplied by the Fiber Artists Group.
